Resumes

Create a complete editable starter, then render it to self-contained HTML or PDF with the resume renderer:

liteformats::use_resume("resume.Rmd")
liteformats::resume("resume.Rmd", "resume.html")
liteformats::resume("resume.Rmd", "resume.pdf")

The starter demonstrates the supported top-level metadata: title, author, job-title, address, phone, email, website, and linkedin. Put shared appearance settings under liteformats; see vignette("config").

Write semantic entries

Use fenced divisions and inline spans to align dates and locations without LaTeX:

::: resume-entry
**Example Corporation** [Seattle, WA ยท 2022--Present](){.resume-meta}

**Principal Data Scientist** [Evidence Systems](){.resume-meta}

- Led a cross-functional analytical program.
- Built reusable, documented research software.
:::

The resume-entry division identifies one entry. A resume-meta span aligns secondary information opposite the surrounding text. Ordinary Markdown lists remain the content structure, so the document is readable before rendering and its text remains accessible in the output.

The resume template also adjusts entry markup before pagination so that long entries can break naturally across pages. Avoid adding keep-together wrappers around an entire entry or heading/list section, because those wrappers can create large page gaps.

For ATS-sensitive output, keep ligatures disabled and verify the extracted text from the final PDF. vignette("typography") describes the relevant controls and checks.
