Fits Royston-Parmar flexible parametric survival models (Royston and Parmar, 2002) <doi:10.1002/sim.1203> on the log cumulative hazard, odds, and probit scales, with time-varying (non-proportional) covariate effects via restricted cubic splines in log time. The likelihood and its analytic gradient are evaluated in C++ with 'RcppParallel', giving large speedups over pure-R implementations for large datasets.
