Because iTe is written in the four interpreted languages Emacs-lisp, PostScript, TEX and Perl, it is platform independent. All of the following required tools are preinstalled on many Unix systems, but are also available as binaries for both Unix and MS-Windows:

Previous versions of iTe were successfully tested on mips-sgi-irix and sparc-sun-solaris.
